Sensex, Nifty tumble amid soaring tensions between India-Pakistan

Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty continued to trade lower on Friday as tensions soared between India and Pakistan fuelling fears of a wider conflict.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 79517.92 down by -816.89 points or by -1.02 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24018.3 down by -255.5 points or by -1.05 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80032.93 and intraday low of 78968.34 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24164.25 and intraday low of 23935.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3494.30,+3.89%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3429.60,+3.28%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 696.60,+2.16%), State Bank of India (Rs. 772.65,+0.51%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2309.65,+0.31%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 300.00,-2.55%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 331.75,-2.35%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11356.30,-2.35%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1403.10,-2.15%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1302.75,-2.05%), among others.



CGS index was at 62386.37 up by 565.74 points or by 0.92%. Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1534.65,+5.58%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3429.60,+3.28%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 316.05,+3.01%), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 4511.25,+2.08%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 5333.95,+1.15%),.



Realty index was at 6306.08 down by -223.76 points or by -3.43%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 416.00,-5.14%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 626.85,-4.33%), Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1233.35,-4.01%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1265.00,-3.57%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1446.05,-3.38%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3730 , shares advanced were 656 while 2897 shares declined and 177 were unchanged.
