Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 are likely to open higher on July 26, tracking cues from GIFT Nifty trading near 24,482, a short while ago this morning.

Profit booking continued for the fifth straight session on July 25, with Nifty managing to close around 24,400 amid F&O expiry day volatility.

On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 80039.8 down by -109.08 points or by -0.14 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24406.1 down by -7.4 points or by -0.03 %.

On the result front, IndusInd Bank, Power Grid Corporation, Shriram Finance, Cipla, InterGlobe Aviation, Bandhan Bank, Aarti Drugs, Amber Enterprises India, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance, City Union Bank, Equitas Small Finance Bank, ESAF Small Finance Bank, KEC International, KFin Technologies, Latent View Analytics, Nuvama Wealth Management, Piramal Pharma, SBI Cards and Payment Services, TTK Prestige, and Zenotech Laboratories are scheduled to announce their Q1FY25 results today.

On the global front, A steady trade in Asia is expected to lend support. Australia's ASX200, and South Korea's Kospi indices were quoting 0.87 per cent higher each this morning. Further, Hong Kong's Hang Seng added 1.14 per cent, and Japan's Nikkei gained 0.19 per cent in Friday's morning trade. Overnight, the S&P 500 declined 0.51 per cent on Wall Street, while the Nasdaq dropped 0.93 per cent to. The Russell 2000, on the other hand, gained 1.26 per cent as investors continued their rotation from tech stock into small caps.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average outperformed the major averages, rising 0.2 per cent, amid higher-than-expected growth in the second-quarter GDP. Data showed the US economy grew 2.8 per cent in the said quarter. Against this, investors' rate cut bets by the US Fed, along with Q1FY25 results and FII activity, back home, will guide the markets today. Back home, Top traded Volumes on NSE Nifty – Tata Steel Ltd. 45155876.00, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. 42054664.00, Axis Bank Ltd. 32979871.00, Tata Motors Ltd. 32766835.00, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. 30554549.00, On NSE, total number of shares traded was 525.34 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 129363.37 Crore.

On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 1033810 with a total turnover of Rs. 66768.68 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 4312298 with a total turnover of Rs. 333689.00 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 711120741 with a total turnover of Rs. 44147476.64 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 6043492 with a total turnover of Rs. 472258.60 Crore.

The FIIs on 25/07/2024 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 17143.11 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 1847.05 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 20651.33 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 1663.24 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. -3508.22 Crore and Rs. 183.81
