CCI approves Mahindra's Rs 555 crore deal to acquire 59% stake in SML Isuzu

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Tuesday approved Mahindra & Mahindra's proposed acquisition of a 58.96% stake in commercial vehicle manufacturer SML Isuzu for Rs 555 crore.

In a statement, the CCI said, “The proposed combination relates to the acquisition of SML Isuzu Ltd (target) by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (acquirer).”

Mahindra had announced the deal in April as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the commercial vehicle segment.
