Benchmark BSE Sensex rose by nearly 592 points on Monday following gains in IT and banking shares amid a firm trend in global markets.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 81973.05 up by 591.69 points or by 0.73 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25127.95 up by 163.7 points or by 0.66 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 82072.17 and intraday low of 81541.2 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25159.75 and intraday low of 25017.5
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1692.75,+2.86%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1688.50,+2.32%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3553.35,+2.02%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 496.85,+1.72%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1370.60,+1.70%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12538.45,-1.85%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 158.30,-1.49%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 7209.95,-1.23%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1164.40,-0.68%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11345.10,-0.67%), among others.
