Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty firm; HCS, Bankex top gainers

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade in green during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including Bajaj Finserv Ltd, Axis Bank Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd. Bajaj Finance Ltd. and IndusInd Bank Ltd. among others.



At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74043.67 up by 214.76 points or by 0.29 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22453.8 up by 56.6 points or by 0.25 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74376.35 and intraday low of 73796.06 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22577 and intraday low of 22353.15



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1868.40,+3.40%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1032.80,+2.24%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1272.15,+1.75%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 8560.60,+1.68%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 681.80,+1.44%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2197.15,-1.52%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 407.20,-1.13%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2167.85,-1.09%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1236.40,-0.88%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3485.85,-0.75%), among others.



HCS index was at 39652.57 up by 357.14 points or by 0.91%. Hester Biosciences Ltd. (Rs. 1426.90,+5.78%), Gujarat Themis Biosyn Ltd. (Rs. 259.40,+5.38%), Blue Jet Healthcare Ltd (Rs. 885.20,+5.00%), Thyrocare Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 733.10,+4.75%), Aarti Pharmalabs Ltd. (Rs. 774.10,+4.64%),.



FMCG index was at 18720.82 down by -99.19 points or by -0.53%. Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd. (Rs. 3236.00,-4.54%), BCL Industries Ltd. (Rs. 36.38,-3.73%), Manorama Industries Ltd. (Rs. 993.80,-3.55%), HMA Agro Industries Ltd. (Rs. 31.01,-3.24%), Flair Writing Industries Ltd (Rs. 197.00,-3.22%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4273 , shares advanced were 1770 while 2310 shares declined and 193 were unchanged.
