Sensex climbs 950 pts to 75,100; Nifty tests 22,800

Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty50 gained strength during the noon trading session on Tuesday, amid firm global cues.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75117.93 up by 947.98 points or by 1.28 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22792.75 up by 284 points or by 1.26 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75177.06 and intraday low of 74480.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22798.3 and intraday low of 22599.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Zomato Ltd. (Rs. 216.20,+6.06%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2793.35,+3.30%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3277.30,+2.97%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1304.90,+2.88%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 677.95,+2.58%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1842.40,-1.57%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1623.10,-0.99%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1429.15,-0.73%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1236.70,-0.30%), among others.



Realty index was at 6358.07 up by 152.73 points or by 2.46%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 510.35,+3.79%), Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1099.15,+3.35%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1566.10,+3.09%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1603.80,+2.85%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1129.80,+2.77%),.



TECk index was at 16972.15 down by 95.47 points or by 0.57%. Bharti Hexacom Ltd. (Rs. 1322.35,-2.54%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1623.00,-1.00%), KPIT Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1241.00,-0.72%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1430.50,-0.64%), Tata Communications Ltd. (Rs. 1498.00,-0.25%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4335 , shares advanced were 2906 while 1254 shares declined and 175 were unchanged.
