Post-Session: Sensex jumps 1,131 points; reclaims 75k-mark on firm global markets

The BSE benchmark index Sensex jumped 1,131 points to revisit the 75,000 level on Tuesday and the NSE Nifty surged 1.45 per cent powered by widespread buying amid a bullish trend in global equities.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 75301.26 up by 1131.31 points or by 1.53 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22834.3 up by 325.55 points or by 1.45 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75385.76 and intraday low of 74480.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22857.8 and intraday low of 22599.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Zomato Ltd. (Rs. 218.35,+7.11%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1309.60,+3.25%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2787.00,+3.07%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 679.80,+2.86%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3271.05,+2.77%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1845.00,-1.43%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1628.15,-0.69%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1431.15,-0.59%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1238.80,-0.13%), among others.



Realty index was at 6388.33 up by 182.99 points or by 2.95%. Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1115.15,+4.86%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 510.25,+3.77%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1570.20,+3.36%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1609.25,+3.20%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1133.50,+3.11%),.



Oil&Gas index was at 23885.3 down by 208.58 points or by 0.88%. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 323.15,-0.71%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1238.80,-0.13%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4410 , shares advanced were 2953 while 1293 shares declined and 164 were unchanged.
