Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty firm; HUL, SBI top gainers

Domestic bourses continued to trade in green during the noon trading session supported by buying in Hindustan Unilever Ltd, State Bank of India, HDFC Bank Ltd. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd among others.



At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 79598.29 up by 189.79 points or by 0.24 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24180.8 up by 55.25 points or by 0.23 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 79824.3 and intraday low of 79253.44 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24242.6 and intraday low of 24072



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2390.35,+1.72%), State Bank of India (Rs. 830.25,+1.67%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1958.00,+1.58%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2803.50,+1.40%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2273.10,+1.36%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 791.00,-4.47%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 313.65,-1.97%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1424.25,-1.81%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1853.80,-1.58%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2089.50,-0.70%), among others.



Realty index was at 6829.46 up by 129.5 points or by 1.93%. Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1668.00,+3.48%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1302.60,+2.78%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 505.95,+2.67%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1700.00,+2.59%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1272.10,+2.38%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4198 , shares advanced were 2677 while 1326 shares declined and 195 were unchanged.
