Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty firm; M&M, Bharti Airtel top gainers

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Nestle India Ltd.Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.ICICI Bank Ltd.among others.



At 12:55 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82134.84 up by 772.97 points or by 0.95 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24984.6 up by 191.35 points or by 0.77 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82186.37 and intraday low of 81323.2 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25045 and intraday low of 24783.65



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3179.30,+2.83%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1919.50,+2.34%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2367.70,+2.10%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 291.80,+1.92%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1430.30,+1.34%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12758.20,-0.37%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 897.45,-0.25%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1616.00,-0.15%), among others.



Power index was at 6722.29 up by 106.54 points or by 1.61%. JSW Energy Ltd. (Rs. 495.90,+3.17%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 687.30,+3.04%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 64.37,+2.98%), Siemens Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 2797.00,+2.14%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 5989.90,+2.12%),.



Oil&Gas index was at 26945.66 down by 54.69 points or by 0.2%. Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 462.60,-1.55%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 137.20,-1.01%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 251.10,-0.18%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 390.40,-0.17%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4115 , shares advanced were 2424 while 1500 shares declined and 191 were unchanged.
