Sensex, Nifty marginally up; HCS, Auto stocks up

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading in green as investors were seen assessing reports that the US and India could soon finalise a trade deal to avoid US President Donald Trump's tariffs, which come into force from July 9.



At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83437.97 up by 28.28 points or by 0.03 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25492.1 up by 38.7 points or by 0.15 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83850.09 and intraday low of 83348.49 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25587.5 and intraday low of 25429.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12767.00,+1.13%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3198.00,+1.05%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 262.00,+0.85%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1622.30,+0.77%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 692.50,+0.60%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2127.00,-1.88%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1982.00,-1.30%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 913.50,-0.99%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1430.00,-0.91%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3678.90,-0.77%), among others.



HCS index was at 44583.03 up by 301.35 points or by 0.68%. Aster DM Healthcare Ltd. (Rs. 634.75,+7.15%), Natco Pharma Ltd. (Rs. 969.65,+5.19%), Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 338.90,+4.76%), GPT Healthcare Ltd. (Rs. 147.35,+4.47%), Indoco Remedies Ltd. (Rs. 334.50,+4.40%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4319 , shares advanced were 2136 while 1978 shares declined and 205 were unchanged.
