Sensex, Nifty flat; M&M, Tata Steel top losers

Stock markets in India continued to consolidate at higher levels as investors kept a close watch on the looming deadline to impose US President Donald Trump's tariffs.



At 9:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83233 down by -6.47 points or by -0.01 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25414.6 up by 9.3 points or by 0.04 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83441.95 and intraday low of 83218.23 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25458.65 and intraday low of 25393.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 937.15,+2.90%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2022.30,+2.12%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 262.10,+0.54%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2320.50,+0.36%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1434.95,+0.28%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1649.95,-1.37%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 163.60,-1.36%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2375.00,-0.57%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12690.00,-0.49%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3664.80,-0.40%), among others.



CGS index was at 72594.02 up by 466.27 points or by 0.65%. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 262.15,+1.81%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 20137.05,+1.68%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 676.50,+1.37%), Inox Wind Ltd. (Rs. 178.50,+1.10%), GMR Airports Ltd. (Rs. 89.36,+1.03%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3194 , shares advanced were 2051 while 996 shares declined and 147 were unchanged.
