Sensex down 498 pts; IT stocks drag

Domestic bourses were trading lower during the late noon trading session amid selling in IT and TECK stock.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82227.69 down by -498.95 points or by -0.6 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25086.65 down by -133.25 points or by -0.53 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82784.24 and intraday low of 82047.22 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25246.25 and intraday low of 25018.7



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 312.85,+3.59%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 699.45,+1.34%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1692.30,+0.58%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 163.35,+0.34%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3481.00,+0.27%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2328.00,-5.09%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1500.05,-3.04%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1549.60,-1.58%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1506.10,-1.57%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1403.55,-1.47%), among others.



HCS index was at 45290.81 up by 278.12 points or by 0.62%. Thyrocare Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1327.45,+10.21%), Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd. (Rs. 1121.10,+10.15%), Rainbow Childrens Medicare Ltd. (Rs. 1629.50,+6.06%), Windlas Biotech Ltd. (Rs. 977.00,+5.27%), Ipca Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 1530.80,+4.70%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4371 , shares advanced were 1612 while 2552 shares declined and 207 were unchanged.
