Post-Session: Sensex drops 542 pts, Nifty ends at 25,062

Indian stock markets ended lower on Thursday, weighed down by stock-specific movements as investors responded to the June quarter earnings of companies such as Infosys, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, IEX, Coforge, and Tata Consumer Products, among others.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82184.17 down by -542.47 points or by -0.66 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25062.1 down by -157.8 points or by -0.63 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82784.24 and intraday low of 82047.22 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25246.25 and intraday low of 25018.7



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 312.40,+3.44%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 700.60,+1.51%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1692.10,+0.56%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 163.45,+0.40%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3483.60,+0.34%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2320.15,-5.41%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1498.30,-3.15%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1402.65,-1.53%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1506.95,-1.51%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2032.05,-1.40%), among others.



HCS index was at 45246.93 up by 234.24 points or by 0.52%. Thyrocare Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1338.30,+11.11%), Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd. (Rs. 1121.30,+10.17%), Windlas Biotech Ltd. (Rs. 979.00,+5.49%), Ipca Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 1541.65,+5.44%), Rainbow Childrens Medicare Ltd. (Rs. 1618.40,+5.33%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4438 , shares advanced were 1735 while 2510 shares declined and 193 were unchanged.
