PM Marks Six Years of Jal Jeevan Mission — Clean Drinking Water for Over 15 Crore Households

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today celebrated six years of the Jal Jeevan Mission, a flagship initiative launched in 2019 to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections. In just a few years, the scheme has reached more than 15 crore households across India, improving health, empowering communities, and transforming rural life.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the mission has particularly benefited women, or Nari Shakti, by easing daily water collection burdens and enhancing healthcare outcomes.

Responding to posts by MyGovIndia on X, Shri Modi wrote:
