Tata Power has commissioned the 400 kV Koteshwar–Rishikesh transmission line, enabling the evacuation of 1,000 MW of clean hydropower from Uttarakhand’s Tehri–Koteshwar generation complex to the northern grid.
The transmission infrastructure will supply renewable energy not only to Uttarakhand but also to Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Delhi, significantly enhancing grid reliability and energy security across the region, the company said in a statement.
