In line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to recognise and encourage digital content creators, Prasar Bharati on Friday launched ‘Creator’s Corner’, a dedicated platform to showcase content created by digital creators from across the country on DD News.
Speaking at the launch, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said India has witnessed sweeping reforms across sectors over the past 11 years, with similar transformations now underway at Prasar Bharati. He noted that 2026 will mark a year of major reforms for the broadcaster, alongside a comprehensive restructuring of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Vaishnaw said the reforms aim to align institutions such as Doordarshan and All India Radio with industry participation, next-generation creators, and technology-driven processes, adding that the launch of Creator’s Corner is the first step in this reform journey. Referring to the WAVES platform, he said it has strengthened the creator economy by engaging one crore youth, generating employment, and contributing nearly ?5,000 crore to the ecosystem.
Minister of State L. Murugan said the initiative marks a significant step in empowering India’s growing creator community, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision for the Orange Economy. He highlighted how creators from smaller towns are independently producing and monetising content, and said Doordarshan will now offer them a strong national and global platform.
Secretary, I&B, Sanjay Jaju said Creator’s Corner will help build a vibrant, responsible, and inclusive creator ecosystem by recognising creators as complete content makers. He added that the initiative, which begins on DD News with a dedicated prime-time slot, will gradually expand across all Doordarshan channels, giving creators from diverse regions, languages, and genres wider national visibility while enriching public broadcasting.
