Wholesale price inflation rises to 2.13% in February

India’s wholesale price inflation rose to 2.13 percent in February, marking the fourth consecutive month of increase, driven by higher prices of food and non-food articles, according to government data released on Monday.

Inflation based on the Wholesale Price Index stood at 1.81 percent in January and 2.45 percent in February last year.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said the positive inflation rate in February was mainly due to higher prices of manufactured products, basic metals, non-food articles, food items, and textiles, even as vegetable prices eased on a month-on-month basis.
