GAIL (India) Limited has signed agreements with TUSCO Limited to develop a 600 MW solar power project at a solar park in Jhansi.
The project will also include a 550 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enhancing energy reliability and supporting renewable integration.
The generated power will primarily meet the captive energy needs of GAIL’s petrochemical plant in Pata, along with additional demand from electrification of gas-based operations and upcoming CBG plants in the state.
The agreement was signed in the presence of senior officials, including R K Singhal, who stated that the project reflects GAIL’s commitment to expanding its footprint in low-carbon and sustainable energy solutions.
The initiative also aligns with the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Uttar Pradesh while advancing its clean energy transition.
