Mid-Session: Sensex drags 150 pts to 81,350; Nifty below 25,600

Domestic bourses continued to trade lower during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights including Hindustan Unilever Ltd. NTPC Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd among others.



At 12:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81363.76 down by -162.38 points or by -0.2 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24579.25 down by -62.55 points or by -0.25 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 81680.97 and intraday low of 81292.56 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24675.25 and intraday low of 24551.65



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1259.85,+2.18%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1794.60,+1.94%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 997.40,+1.26%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1011.70,+1.19%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1990.60,+1.11%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2349.75,-2.20%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 357.65,-2.16%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3860.30,-1.42%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 11140.85,-1.26%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 789.40,-1.20%), among others.



_IT index was at 45537.85 up by 397.73 points or by 0.88%. Nelco Ltd. (Rs. 1470.00,+6.48%), Ksolves India Ltd. (Rs. 1019.25,+5.15%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 9208.10,+2.31%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1796.50,+2.05%), Mastek Ltd. (Rs. 3300.05,+1.90%),.



FMCG index was at 20684.1 down by -198.35 points or by -0.95%. Gopal Snacks Ltd. (Rs. 419.60,-7.15%), HMA Agro Industries Ltd. (Rs. 41.99,-3.71%), Manorama Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1154.65,-3.10%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd. (Rs. 824.45,-3.09%), Kokuyo Camlin Ltd. (Rs. 134.55,-2.85%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4178 , shares advanced were 1535 while 2484 shares declined and 159 were unchanged.
