Sensex, Nifty slump dragged down by metal stocks, foreign fund outflows

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty continued to extend losses on Friday dragged down by metal stocks, foreign fund outflows and weak global cues.



At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80368.06 down by -921.9 points or by -1.13 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24302.5 down by -246.2 points or by -1 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 81224.08 and intraday low of 80300.67 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24520.8 and intraday low of 24299.6



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1626.00,+0.92%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 145.95,-3.25%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 977.15,-2.92%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 970.70,-2.73%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1120.10,-2.23%), State Bank of India (Rs. 837.05,-1.96%), among others.



BSETECk index was at 20267.98 up by -141.78 points or by -0.69%. Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1626.00,+0.92%),.



Metal index was at 31148.33 down by -835.41 points or by -2.61%. Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 122.90,-4.88%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 231.00,-4.03%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 145.95,-3.25%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 649.55,-2.93%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 977.15,-2.92%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3907 , shares advanced were 941 while 2798 shares declined and 168 were unchanged.
