Post-Session: Sensex ends 843pts up, soars 2050pts from low; Nifty at 24,768

Benchmark equity indices ended the week's last trading day in positive territory.



Friday ended in favor of the bulls, as 41 out of 50 constituent stocks ended in the green, led by Bharti Airtel, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hindustan Unilever, and UltraTech Cement, with gains of up to 4.44 per cent. Conversely, Shriram Finance, Tata Steel, Hindalco, IndusInd Bank, and JSW Steel were among the 9 stocks that ended lower, with losses extending up to 2.44 per cent.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82133.12 up by 843.16 points or by 1.04 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24768.3 up by 219.6 points or by 0.89 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82213.92 and intraday low of 80082.82 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24792.3 and intraday low of 24180.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1681.95,+4.39%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 470.15,+2.07%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1806.15,+2.06%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2389.45,+1.92%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12092.90,+1.87%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 148.95,-1.26%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 987.05,-1.09%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1001.20,-0.53%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1676.55,-0.15%), among others.



TECk index was at 20679.3 up by 269.54 points or by 1.32%. Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1681.95,+4.39%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 349.90,+1.83%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1968.30,+1.69%), Tejas Networks Ltd. (Rs. 1326.00,+1.58%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 9322.25,+1.45%),.



Metal index was at 31741.18 down by -242.56 points or by -0.76%. Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 124.75,-3.44%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 233.70,-2.91%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 226.50,-1.91%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 148.95,-1.26%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 662.00,-1.07%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4324 , shares advanced were 1900 while 2271 shares declined and 153 were unchanged.
