Mid-Session: Sensex down 448 points; HCL Tech, Infosys top losers

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade lower during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights including HCL Technologies Ltd. Infosys Ltd. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries LtdTata Consultancy Services Ltd.Tata Motors Ltd.among others.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80337.99 down by -448.55 points or by -0.56 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24584.15 down by -127.9 points or by -0.52 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80775.71 and intraday low of 80093.52 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24702.65 and intraday low of 24507.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3632.40,+1.10%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2512.70,+1.02%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1325.70,+0.78%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 882.45,+0.68%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3560.00,+0.58%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1454.65,-2.52%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1503.15,-1.75%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1574.70,-1.61%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3111.75,-1.41%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 673.50,-1.18%), among others.



CDS index was at 60677.22 up by 606.77 points or by 1.01%. Blue Star Ltd. (Rs. 1906.20,+2.22%), Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd. (Rs. 507.30,+1.86%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3637.05,+1.23%), Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1360.50,+0.99%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1292.70,+0.64%),.



IT index was at 34867.8 down by -489.62 points or by -1.38%. Mastek Ltd. (Rs. 2455.75,-2.79%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1453.70,-2.58%), Happiest Minds Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 568.85,-2.22%), Zensar Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 787.30,-2.09%), Ksolves India Ltd. (Rs. 325.00,-1.86%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4230 , shares advanced were 1652 while 2381 shares declined and 197 were unchanged.
