Mid-Session: Sensex up 66 points, Nifty holds 24,500

Indian equities were trading in green on Friday, recovering after a sharp two-day sell-off.



At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80147.12 up by 66.55 points or by 0.08 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24546.1 up by 45.2 points or by 0.18 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80310.74 and intraday low of 79944.67 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24572.45 and intraday low of 24464.15



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 406.65,+1.48%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3603.70,+1.23%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1970.00,+1.23%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12674.05,+1.20%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2516.60,+1.02%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3221.70,-2.24%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 308.55,-2.14%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1478.95,-1.41%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 328.50,-0.74%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3618.30,-0.51%), among others.



FMCG index was at 20613.64 up by 187.37 points or by 0.92%. Godfrey Phillips India Ltd. (Rs. 11163.15,+5.35%), Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd. (Rs. 2336.55,+3.30%), Dodla Dairy Ltd. (Rs. 1384.35,+2.35%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (Rs. 5835.15,+2.03%), CCL Products India Ltd. (Rs. 872.20,+2.02%),.



Realty index was at 6805.56 down by -50.12 points or by -0.73%. Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1450.85,-2.00%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 936.30,-1.78%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1085.20,-1.59%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1963.05,-0.98%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1495.95,-0.88%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4171 , shares advanced were 2362 while 1585 shares declined and 224 were unchanged.
