Post-Session: Stock markets fall for 3rd day; RIL down 2%

Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty declined for the third straight session on Friday, as investor sentiment remained weighed down by steep tariffs and persistent foreign fund outflows.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 79809.65 down by -270.92 points or by -0.34 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24426.85 down by -74.05 points or by -0.3 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80310.74 and intraday low of 79741.76 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24572.45 and intraday low of 24404.7



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 409.75,+2.26%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3599.85,+1.12%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1966.90,+1.07%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2517.40,+1.05%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12637.25,+0.90%), among others.





The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3198.15,-2.96%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1357.05,-2.21%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1469.45,-2.04%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 327.55,-1.03%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 668.80,-0.98%), among others.



FMCG index was at 20610.64 up by 184.37 points or by 0.9%. Godfrey Phillips India Ltd. (Rs. 10994.10,+3.76%), Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd. (Rs. 2333.75,+3.18%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 409.75,+2.26%), United Spirits Ltd. (Rs. 1307.50,+2.08%), Marico Ltd. (Rs. 726.05,+2.04%),.



Realty index was at 6764.68 down by -91 points or by -1.33%. Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 922.50,-3.23%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1448.25,-2.17%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1946.00,-1.84%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1559.85,-1.29%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 740.45,-1.16%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4420 , shares advanced were 2009 while 2234 shares declined and 177 were unchanged.
