Stock markets trade flat; IT stocks weigh

Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty recorded marginal gains in early trade on Monday but later faced highly volatile trends and were quoting flat amid profit-taking after a sharp rally last week.



At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81889.16 down by -15.54 points or by -0.02 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25084.75 down by -29.25 points or by -0.12 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 81998.51 and intraday low of 81821.85 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25138.45 and intraday low of 25070



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1017.35,+1.41%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1402.80,+0.73%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3603.80,+0.68%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1422.60,+0.35%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1910.00,+0.31%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1506.70,-1.24%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2513.80,-1.20%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1601.55,-0.91%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3106.00,-0.90%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1512.30,-0.87%), among others.



Realty index was at 6918.92 up by 50.39 points or by 0.73%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 571.65,+7.18%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1129.75,+1.18%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1574.05,+0.94%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2016.25,+0.92%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 763.00,+0.63%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4130 , shares advanced were 2343 while 1542 shares declined and 245 were unchanged.
