Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty are expected to open flat to slightly lower today, in line with GIFT Nifty, which was trading around 25,153.
Positive global cues and active primary market participation may lend some support to investor sentiment.
On September 15, the market traded in a narrow range, with the Nifty hovering near the 25,100 mark for most of the session before closing with modest losses just below that level.
On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 81785.74 down by -118.96 points or by -0.15 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25069.2 down by -44.8 points or by -0.18 %.
On the global front, Asian markets rallied on Monday with Japan’s Nikkei breaching the 45,000 mark for the first time, supported by progress in US–China trade talks and a framework deal on TikTok’s divestment. Topix rose 0.36%, Kospi 0.82% and ASX 200 0.23%.
On Wall Street, stocks gained ahead of the Fed meeting, with the S&P 500 topping 6,600 for the first time, Nasdaq hitting a record 22,348.75, and the Dow edging up to 45,883.45.
