Sensex surges 354 points; Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank top gainers

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher on Tuesday, rebounding on optimism over potential progress in the India–US bilateral trade talks.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82140.4 up by 354.66 points or by 0.43 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25168.3 up by 99.1 points or by 0.4 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82168.32 and intraday low of 81779.94 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25181.85 and intraday low of 25070.45



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1122.70,+1.67%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1999.80,+1.46%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3569.30,+1.13%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3623.00,+1.05%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15400.00,+0.90%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3512.25,-0.62%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1206.60,-0.44%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1007.75,-0.23%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1505.00,-0.20%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1517.00,-0.18%), among others.



Auto index was at 60411.4 up by 642.84 points or by 1.08%. Sundram Fasteners Ltd. (Rs. 1047.90,+3.41%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2474.35,+2.86%), MRF Ltd. (Rs. 151510.00,+2.81%), Apollo Tyres Ltd. (Rs. 489.50,+2.13%), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd. (Rs. 109.82,+1.88%),.



HCS index was at 44770.54 down by 52.06 points or by 0.12%. Indraprastha Medical Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 468.45,-4.76%), Themis Medicare Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4078 , shares advanced were 2647 while 1194 shares declined and 237 were unchanged.
