Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty firm; HCL Tech, Tata Steel top gainers

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including HCL Technologies Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd.Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. Infosys LtdEternal Ltd among others.



At 12:55 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81985.84 up by 212.18 points or by 0.26 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25147.6 up by 101.45 points or by 0.41 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82160.85 and intraday low of 81667.68 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25181.25 and intraday low of 25024.3



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1487.05,+2.35%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 175.35,+2.04%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2145.00,+1.31%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1510.90,+1.07%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 345.15,+1.05%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 673.70,-1.12%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1167.70,-1.08%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15885.05,-0.78%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3544.25,-0.61%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 974.50,-0.43%), among others.



Metal index was at 34117.52 up by 557.1 points or by 1.66%. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 507.35,+3.55%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 78.05,+2.37%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 228.30,+2.06%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1168.25,+2.05%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 175.35,+2.04%),.



Auto index was at 59126.24 down by -116.16 points or by -0.2%. UNO Minda Ltd. (Rs. 1276.00,-2.69%), Apollo Tyres Ltd. (Rs. 481.30,-1.17%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 673.70,-1.12%), Sundram Fasteners Ltd. (Rs. 995.45,-0.92%), TVS Motor Company Ltd. (Rs. 3451.05,-0.87%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4357 , shares advanced were 1948 while 2206 shares declined and 203 were unchanged.
