Sensex up 337 points; NSE Nifty at 25,297.65

Benchmark Sensex rose by nearly 300 points while Nifty traded above the 25,250 level in the morning session on Friday, following buying in realty and utilities stocks.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82,509.96 up by 337.86 points or by 0.41 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25,297.65 up by 116.55points or by 0.45%.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82571.4 and intraday low of 82072.93 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25167.65 and intraday low of 25167.65.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 753.95,+0.68%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 683.05,+0.43%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1471.05,+0.32%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3070.25,+0.27%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1488.05,+0.11%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1179.95,-0.64%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 284.35,-0.63%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 343.60,-0.51%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 398.15,-0.44%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1020.00,-0.41%), among others.



Realty index was at 6934.72 up by 87.11 points or by 1.27%. Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1633.30,+2.60%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2055.00,+1.19%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 926.95,+0.91%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 700.00,+0.14%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1129.45,+0.12%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2096 , shares advanced were 1039 while 868 shares declined and 189 were unchanged.
