Sensex up 372 points; NSE Nifty at 25298.1

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including IndusInd Bank Ltd, State Bank of India , Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., NTPC Ltd. Axis Bank Ltd.among others.



At 14:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82544.39 up by 372.29 points or by 0.45 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25298.1 up by 116.3 points or by 0.46 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82654.11 and intraday low of 82072.93 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25330.75 and intraday low of 25156.85



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 764.45,+2.08%), State Bank of India (Rs. 880.00,+2.08%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16297.40,+2.01%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 339.85,+1.18%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1181.05,+1.16%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 173.75,-1.50%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3025.10,-1.20%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1457.35,-0.61%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3530.05,-0.57%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2003.10,-0.52%), among others.



Realty index was at 6972.06 up by 124.45 points or by 1.82%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2100.00,+3.40%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 943.40,+2.71%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1620.00,+2.51%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1155.50,+2.43%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1026.70,+2.13%),.



Metal index was at 34013.65 down by -271.46 points or by -0.79%. Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 131.95,-3.44%), Jindal Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1015.65,-2.29%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 77.10,-2.16%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 501.25,-2.15%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 224.75,-2.05%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4486 , shares advanced were 2490 while 1800 shares declined and 196 were unchanged.
