Rising for the second consecutive day, benchmark Sensex rose by nearly 329 points on Friday following strong gains in pharmaceutical and banking shares and foreign fund inflows.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82500.82 up by 328.72 points or by 0.4 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25285.35 up by 103.55 points or by 0.41 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 82654.11 and intraday low of 82072.93 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25330.75 and intraday low of 25156.85
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 880.75,+2.16%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 763.50,+1.96%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16252.00,+1.72%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1180.10,+1.08%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 339.50,+1.07%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 173.80,-1.47%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3028.40,-1.10%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1457.25,-0.62%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3532.65,-0.50%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2004.30,-0.46%), among others.
