Sensex surges 514 points; NSE Nifty was at 25330.5

Indian stock markets were trading higher on Wednesday, lifted by global optimism and a decline in crude oil price.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82544.78 up by 514.8 points or by 0.63 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25330.5 up by 185 points or by 0.74 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82727.02 and intraday low of 82084.37 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25365.15 and intraday low of 25159.35

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1221.30,+3.94%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1057.50,+3.82%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2083.00,+3.20%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2382.00,+2.82%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3823.15,+2.19%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 388.75,-1.71%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 739.85,-1.32%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1474.00,-1.06%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1169.00,-0.65%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1460.40,-0.53%), among others.



Realty index was at 7120.66 up by 220.42 points or by 3.19%. Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 958.90,+4.79%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1679.50,+4.78%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1508.50,+4.74%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2141.50,+4.02%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1040.00,+3.87%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4433 , shares advanced were 2500 while 1764 shares declined and 169 were unchanged.
