Stock markets surge tracking rally in global peers

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher on Thursday, tracking a rally in global markets amid US Fed rate cut hopes.



Fresh foreign fund inflows also added to the markets' optimism during the initial trade.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83058.25 up by 452.82 points or by 0.55 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25456.45 up by 132.9 points or by 0.52 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83111.41 and intraday low of 82791.35 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25460.75 and intraday low of 25376.85



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3643.60,+2.67%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 399.50,+2.24%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1483.00,+2.23%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1192.00,+1.97%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3543.65,+1.33%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2955.40,-0.46%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1646.80,-0.44%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1469.50,-0.30%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1456.00,-0.21%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1219.00,-0.21%), among others.



Realty index was at 7188.71 up by 77.6 points or by 1.09%. Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1679.15,+4.88%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2169.50,+1.62%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1524.00,+1.06%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1694.00,+1.04%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1054.55,+1.01%),.



Oil&Gas index was at 27231.66 down by -53.12 points or by -0.19%. Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 417.20,-1.29%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 335.60,-0.65%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4056 , shares advanced were 2445 while 1386 shares declined and 225 were unchanged.
