Sensex up 476 points; NSE Nifty at 25809.35

Indian stock markets saw fireworks on Dalal Street, on the occasion of Diwali 2025, as benchmark indices leapt over half a per cent in early trade.



At 9:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84428.79 up by 476.6 points or by 0.57 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25809.35 up by 99.5 points or by 0.39 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84656.56 and intraday low of 84239.7 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25926.2 and intraday low of 25788.5



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1463.60,+3.29%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2117.75,+1.68%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1463.00,+1.51%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1216.10,+1.33%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2996.20,+1.13%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1406.70,-2.09%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 340.00,-0.79%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12274.00,-0.71%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 171.45,-0.46%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3633.35,-0.41%), among others.



TECk index was at 17362.82 up by 157.96 points or by 0.92%. Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1463.00,+1.51%), PVR INOX Ltd. (Rs. 1106.20,+1.34%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2996.20,+1.13%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1753.45,+1.08%), Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 5805.90,+0.87%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3803 , shares advanced were 1945 while 1650 shares declined and 208 were unchanged.
