Post-Session: Stock markets rally for 4th day; Sensex surges 411 points

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended higher on Monday, taking their winning run to the fourth day in a row, driven by buying in blue-chip Reliance Industries and sustained foreign fund inflows.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 84363.37 up by 411.18 points or by 0.49 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25843.15 up by 133.3 points or by 0.52 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84656.56 and intraday low of 84196.79 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25926.2 and intraday low of 25788.5



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1466.80,+3.52%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2138.00,+2.65%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1226.15,+2.17%), State Bank of India (Rs. 906.85,+1.97%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2051.25,+1.95%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1390.90,-3.19%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3598.10,-1.38%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 338.20,-1.31%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1467.65,-0.77%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 287.80,-0.64%), among others.



TECk index was at 17434.28 up by 229.42 points or by 1.33%. PVR INOX Ltd. (Rs. 1158.30,+6.11%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 354.70,+3.43%), MphasiS Ltd. (Rs. 2751.90,+2.14%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2051.25,+1.95%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3014.25,+1.74%),.



Metal index was at 33766.39 down by -26.91 points or by -0.08%. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 486.35,-2.74%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1144.40,-1.58%), Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 786.45,-0.69%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 171.90,-0.20%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 473.95,-0.01%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4657 , shares advanced were 2611 while 1838 shares declined and 208 were unchanged.
