Sensex, Nifty in red; NTPC, Eternal top losers

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading lower on Friday amid selling in index heavyweights including NTPC, Eternal and Kotak Mahindra Bank among others.



At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84254.48 down by -149.98 points or by -0.18 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25879 up by 1.15 points or by 0 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84712.79 and intraday low of 84244.32 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25953.75 and intraday low of 25822.1



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16435.10,+1.42%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 424.55,+1.40%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1062.00,+0.96%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 415.10,+0.68%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3055.00,+0.64%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 338.50,-1.91%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 324.25,-1.55%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2114.00,-1.10%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 990.85,-0.73%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1353.90,-0.63%), among others.



Realty index was at 7448.26 up by 61.52 points or by 0.83%. Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1200.00,+2.38%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 1062.25,+2.21%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1786.70,+2.13%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2327.15,+1.20%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1590.00,+0.82%),.



Metal index was at 35287.54 down by -249.17 points or by -0.7%. Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 767.70,-1.97%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 497.60,-1.83%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 234.90,-1.43%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 850.45,-1.30%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 183.20,-0.62%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3890 , shares advanced were 1975 while 1693 shares declined and 222 were unchanged.
