Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty under pressure; PSU Bank, realty shares rally

Indian stock markets continued to trade lower during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, ITC Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.Larsen & Toubro Ltd.Nestle India Ltd among others.



At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83901.43 down by -37.28 points or by -0.04 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25717.95 down by -4.15 points or by -0.02 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84052.26 and intraday low of 83609.54 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25773.45 and intraday low of 25645.5



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3545.30,+1.69%), State Bank of India (Rs. 947.30,+1.10%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 320.75,+0.94%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 413.35,+0.79%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 799.20,+0.64%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15617.60,-3.55%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 414.70,-1.32%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3020.00,-1.24%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3992.00,-0.97%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1263.00,-0.67%), among others.



Realty index was at 7556.23 up by 196.11 points or by 2.66%. Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1758.50,+4.73%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1801.45,+3.23%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 780.10,+3.16%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1234.00,+3.05%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1106.30,+2.02%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4443 , shares advanced were 2212 while 1976 shares declined and 255 were unchanged.
