Sensex, Nifty open flat; Power, auto stocks weigh

Indian stocks opened flat on Tuesday amid feeble global cues and lack of major market moving triggers.



At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83808.83 down by -169.66 points or by -0.2 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25703.4 down by -59.95 points or by -0.23 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84068.01 and intraday low of 83783.93 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25787.4 and intraday low of 25701.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2121.00,+2.28%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3765.05,+1.00%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3556.80,+0.23%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1486.25,+0.13%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1044.00,+0.11%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 281.00,-2.43%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 317.70,-1.47%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 412.40,-1.11%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1528.70,-1.05%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15497.05,-0.95%), among others.



TECk index was at 17739.53 up by 78.51 points or by 0.44%. Network18 Media & Investments Ltd. (Rs. 49.60,+3.42%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 391.95,+2.42%), Route Mobile Ltd. (Rs. 741.10,+2.28%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2121.00,+2.28%), PB Fintech Ltd. (Rs. 1844.90,+1.87%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3470 , shares advanced were 1714 while 1566 shares declined and 190 were unchanged.
