Nifty, Sensex rebound from lows; Financial and Metal stocks lead recovery

The stock markets in India were staging a recovery, led by low-level buying in banking and metal shares.



At 14:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83224.22 down by -86.79 points or by -0.1 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25512.75 up by 3.05 points or by 0.01 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83390.11 and intraday low of 82670.95 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25551.25 and intraday low of 25318.45



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1067.10,+2.45%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 181.30,+2.28%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3686.00,+1.88%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1343.00,+1.71%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 798.10,+1.51%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2000.75,-4.48%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1389.95,-1.70%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1478.15,-1.18%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1510.00,-1.07%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2417.25,-0.78%), among others.



Metal index was at 34545.74 up by 487.43 points or by 1.43%. Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 181.30,+2.28%), Jindal Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1068.80,+2.11%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 515.05,+2.03%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 235.15,+1.95%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 140.55,+1.92%),.



TECk index was at 17339.08 down by -261.06 points or by -1.48%. Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2000.75,-4.48%), Bharti Hexacom Ltd. (Rs. 1764.70,-2.78%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1389.95,-1.70%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (Rs. 5565.00,-1.52%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 236.60,-1.42%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4454 , shares advanced were 2093 while 2179 shares declined and 182 were unchanged.
