Post-Session: Sensex, Nifty rebound to end higher on buying in services, telecom stocks

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty staged a strong comeback on Tuesday, closing with robust gains after a weak start, supported by buying in services and telecom stocks amid renewed optimism over a potential US-India trade deal.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 83871.32 up by 335.97 points or by 0.4 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25694.95 up by 120.6 points or by 0.47 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83936.47 and intraday low of 83124.03 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25715.8 and intraday low of 25449.25



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 825.85,+3.35%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3751.15,+2.40%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1474.20,+2.11%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1569.85,+1.89%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 305.75,+1.44%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1005.35,-7.38%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1987.75,-6.26%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 407.50,-0.75%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2087.35,-0.30%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 267.70,-0.22%), among others.



CGS index was at 71061.62 up by 835.98 points or by 1.19%. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 285.50,+4.50%), AIA Engineering Ltd. (Rs. 3554.00,+2.94%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 21859.90,+2.69%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 427.20,+2.52%), Elgi Equipments Ltd. (Rs. 485.00,+2.30%),.



HCS index was at 44228.74 down by -148.48 points or by -0.33%. Aarti Drugs Ltd. (Rs. 474.80,-8.60%), Neuland Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 17201.40,-5.01%), Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services Ltd. (Rs. 758.75,-4.87%), Innova Captab Ltd. (Rs. 710.25,-4.07%), Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd. (Rs. 675.40,-4.04%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4547 , shares advanced were 2052 while 2293 shares declined and 202 were unchanged.
