Sensex, Nifty flat; Tata Motors, Eternal top losers

Indian stock markets opened in the red, with benchmark indices — the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 — slipping by up to 0.2 per cent.



At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84470.9 up by 4.39 points or by 0.01 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25849.15 down by -26.65 points or by -0.1 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84545.29 and intraday low of 84253.05 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25906.8 and intraday low of 25808.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2865.00,+3.30%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 182.45,+2.13%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1375.25,+1.20%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2058.15,+1.09%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 873.50,+1.04%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 320.00,-2.33%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 306.30,-0.84%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1538.90,-0.81%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1583.55,-0.66%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1446.90,-0.63%), among others.



Metal index was at 35469.4 up by 533.45 points or by 1.53%. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 500.30,+3.83%), Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 746.30,+2.54%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 533.35,+2.48%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 182.45,+2.13%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 808.35,+1.80%),.



IT index was at 35859.95 down by -170.88 points or by -0.47%. Ramco Systems Ltd. (Rs. 598.95,-1.85%), Genesys International Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 477.80,-1.35%), 63 Moons Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 748.00,-1.20%), Affle 3I Ltd. (Rs. 1755.35,-1.15%), Cigniti Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1750.50,-1.06%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3540 , shares advanced were 1924 while 1445 shares declined and 171 were unchanged.
