Sensex at day's low, down 117 pts; metal, realty drag

Indian stock markets struggled to hold on to early gains, even as global cues remained positive.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85114.19 down by -117.73 points or by -0.14 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26026.15 down by -42 points or by -0.16 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85473.47 and intraday low of 85102.62 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26142.8 and intraday low of 26025.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1495.00,+2.34%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1005.15,+0.70%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2099.95,+0.64%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1553.30,+0.56%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1616.50,+0.51%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 272.65,-1.80%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 165.80,-1.31%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3702.30,-1.24%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 994.00,-1.09%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11603.35,-1.07%), among others.



_IT index was at 36075.93 up by 201.71 points or by 0.56%. BLS E-Services Ltd. (Rs. 221.35,+3.41%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1495.00,+2.34%), eMudhra Ltd. (Rs. 623.00,+2.19%), KPIT Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1194.00,+2.16%), Latent View Analytics Ltd. (Rs. 489.80,+1.60%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4542 , shares advanced were 1297 while 3020 shares declined and 225 were unchanged.
