Mid-Session: Sensex up 179 points; NSE Nifty at 26248.2

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including including Bajaj Finance Ltd. Bajaj Finserv Ltd.Hindustan Unilever Ltd Larsen & Toubro Ltd and ICICI Bank Ltd among others.



At 12:55 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85788.75 up by 179.24 points or by 0.21 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26248.2 up by 42.9 points or by 0.16 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 86055.86 and intraday low of 85646.22 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26310.45 and intraday low of 26208.9



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1042.70,+3.16%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2109.00,+1.21%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2454.55,+1.20%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 4104.10,+1.06%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1388.85,+1.01%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 301.90,-1.60%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3131.35,-0.98%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 168.10,-0.97%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16025.00,-0.80%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1508.05,-0.79%), among others.



Bankex index was at 67021.1 up by 230.18 points or by 0.34%. ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1388.95,+1.02%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2119.30,+0.76%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1011.40,+0.75%), Canara Bank (Rs. 151.10,+0.60%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 854.85,+0.51%),.



Oil&Gas index was at 28474.36 down by -248.53 points or by -0.87%. Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 417.05,-1.48%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 244.00,-1.45%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4304 , shares advanced were 2038 while 2024 shares declined and 242 were unchanged.
