Benchmarks off record highs; Sensex, Nifty flat

India’s equity benchmark indices traded higher on Thursday, supported by positive global cues.



At 14:28 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85723.67 up by 114.16 points or by 0.13 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26185.5 down by -19.8 points or by -0.08 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 86055.86 and intraday low of 85473.85 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26310.45 and intraday low of 26141.9



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1035.95,+2.49%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1391.15,+1.18%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 4100.45,+0.97%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 857.85,+0.86%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1012.50,+0.86%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 303.00,-1.24%), State Bank of India (Rs. 972.05,-1.22%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15960.60,-1.20%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11638.95,-1.03%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1263.00,-0.97%), among others.



Bankex index was at 66905.38 up by 114.46 points or by 0.17%. ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1391.15,+1.18%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 857.85,+0.86%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1012.50,+0.86%), Canara Bank (Rs. 151.05,+0.57%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2113.40,+0.48%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4417 , shares advanced were 2023 while 2167 shares declined and 227 were unchanged.
