Indian equities are trading flat on early morning deals taking cues from their mixed Asian peers. In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index fell 0.16 per cent, and the Nifty SmallCap index dropped 0.36 per cent.
On the corporate front, Ashoka Buildcon share price was trading lower on Friday. The stock fell to a low of ₹172.9 per share on the BSE, falling over 4 per cent in the intraday trade.
Asian stock markets are trading mixed on Friday, following the slightly positive cues from European markets and lack of cues from Wall Street overnight.
At 09:43 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85777.16 up by 56.78 points or by 0.07 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26229.65 up by 14.1 points or by 0.05 %.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3754.90,+1.99%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1576.45,+0.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1521.95,+0.79%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1519.05,+0.68%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2467.25,+0.66%), among others.
On the flip side, the top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 272.00,-0.62%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 356.05,-0.53%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1281.40,-0.46%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 326.25,-0.29%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2110.15,-0.27%), among others.
On the sectoral front, the Nifty Auto index advanced 0.5 per cent, followed by the Nifty FMCG index (0.16 per cent), and the Nifty Metal index (0.13 per cent).
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3549 , shares advanced were 1792 while 1554 shares declined and 203 were unchanged.
