Stocks markets firm; Eternal, Kotak Mahindra Bank top gainers

Equity benchmark indices pared early losses and bounced back in green during the morning deals.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84580.8 up by 189.53 points or by 0.22 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25830.8 up by 72.8 points or by 0.28 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84626.64 and intraday low of 84150.19 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25838.85 and intraday low of 25693.25



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 289.65,+2.22%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2170.00,+1.91%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 164.80,+1.60%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16214.80,+1.32%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1019.30,+0.88%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2777.35,-0.97%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2048.45,-0.88%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3817.55,-0.72%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3178.45,-0.30%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 402.05,-0.26%), among others.



Metal index was at 33936.85 up by 301.68 points or by 0.9%. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 526.10,+2.63%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 533.45,+1.80%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 164.80,+1.60%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 75.16,+1.08%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1107.30,+0.94%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3925 , shares advanced were 2083 while 1638 shares declined and 204 were unchanged.
