Post-Session: Sensex recoups losses, ends flat; Nifty ends above 26k

Stock markets in India recouped early losses on Monday but ended slightly weaker as a weak global market mood weighed on sentiment.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 85213.36 down by -54.3 points or by -0.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26027.3 down by -19.65 points or by -0.08 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85278.63 and intraday low of 84840.32 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26047.15 and intraday low of 25904.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2292.00,+1.37%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1683.80,+0.68%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 851.30,+0.66%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2780.20,+0.53%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 172.80,+0.52%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3607.55,-1.94%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16374.25,-0.89%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1510.00,-0.81%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2070.40,-0.75%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 994.60,-0.56%), among others.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4634 , shares advanced were 2347 while 2087 shares declined and 200 were unchanged.
