Post-Session: Sensex slides 533.50 points on foreign fund outflows and weak global cues

Benchmark indices ended sharply lower on Tuesday, with the Sensex plunging 533.50 points and the broader Nifty slipping to the 25,860 level, as continued foreign fund outflows, a weak rupee, and subdued global market cues weighed on investor sentiment.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 84679.86 down by -533.5 points or by -0.63 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25860.1 down by -167.2 points or by -0.64 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85059.96 and intraday low of 84620.61 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25980.75 and intraday low of 25834.35



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3927.60,+1.60%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2101.80,+1.44%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3623.70,+0.45%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2790.00,+0.35%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2182.30,+0.08%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1219.65,-5.03%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 284.35,-4.69%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1652.15,-1.90%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2030.95,-1.86%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 169.80,-1.74%), among others.



CDS index was at 60515.34 up by 306.56 points or by 0.51%. Supreme Industries Ltd. (Rs. 3405.85,+4.01%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3927.60,+1.60%), Blue Star Ltd. (Rs. 1815.50,+0.51%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 944.80,+0.48%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1414.15,+0.06%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4516 , shares advanced were 1734 while 2607 shares declined and 175 were unchanged.
