Stock markets in red; CGS, CDS stocks weigh

Benchmark indices were trading lower on Wednesday driven by value buying at lower levels and a positive trend in Asian markets.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading 84543.19 down by -136.67 points or by -0.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25819.6 down by -40.5 points or by -0.16 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84889.45 and intraday low of 84513.69 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25929.15 and intraday low of 25809.1



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 975.70,+1.49%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1231.95,+1.01%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 285.90,+0.55%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3217.80,+0.41%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 346.80,+0.38%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1347.50,-1.35%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 835.00,-1.20%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1485.95,-0.88%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 986.95,-0.72%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1773.20,-0.54%), among others.



PSU index was at 19809.34 up by 50.63 points or by 0.26%. State Bank of India (Rs. 975.70,+1.49%), Canara Bank (Rs. 149.30,+1.43%), Bank of India (Rs. 141.25,+1.25%), Punjab National Bank (Rs. 118.45,+1.24%), Gujarat Gas Ltd. (Rs. 390.30,+0.85%),.



CGS index was at 66190.58 down by -427.82 points or by -0.64%. Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1333.00,-1.65%), Elgi Equipments Ltd. (Rs. 472.70,-1.30%), NBCC (India) Ltd. (Rs. 110.35,-1.30%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 275.80,-1.29%), Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. (Rs. 780.05,-1.22%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3960 , shares advanced were 1491 while 2237 shares declined and 232 were unchanged.
