Sensex Nifty firm; Infosys, Bharti Airtel top gainers

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading firm as investors' sentiment remained positive amid foreign fund inflows and a rally in global markets.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85386.72 up by 457.36 points or by 0.54 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26124.85 up by 158.45 points or by 0.61 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85461.19 and intraday low of 85145.86 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26142 and intraday low of 26047.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1675.20,+2.17%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2141.30,+2.15%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1637.75,+1.54%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 856.00,+1.36%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1663.45,+1.28%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11444.95,-0.45%), State Bank of India (Rs. 976.60,-0.36%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1227.30,-0.26%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2038.70,-0.25%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5140.20,-0.17%), among others.



TECk index was at 19036.25 up by 286.23 points or by 1.53%. Network18 Media & Investments Ltd. (Rs. 43.49,+3.84%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 271.40,+2.67%), Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 92.75,+2.37%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1675.20,+2.17%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2141.30,+2.15%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4195 , shares advanced were 2792 while 1140 shares declined and 263 were unchanged.
